Portuguese sweet rolls

Glowing light of a lamp

Orange, yellow, and brown of the carpet

Sitting cuddled in a grandparent's lap

Cousin swirls and family swarms

Tender teasing

Endless fun

Lots of joking at everyone

Baby cousins and bigger ones

Blues and songs and lots of sounds

Bright purple and dark blues

And all of the loving hues

Loving brown and caring black

All these things can bring me back

To times and places of feeling one

Of being connected

to what's been done

And what is still

yet

to

come.
